Kinkead & Stilz Welcomes Seven Exceptional Law Students to 2025 Summer Associate Class

Kinkead & Stilz (K&S) is pleased to have a talented group of law students joining us this summer. These Summer Associates will be engaged in the legal world, collaborating with our attorneys on a wide array of matters for our clients. Hosting law students each summer enhances our Firm by introducing fresh academic insights and fostering a dynamic learning environment, while reinforcing our commitment to mentoring and shaping the future leaders of the legal profession.

Cami Gaunt is returning to K&S for a second summer from the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law and will begin her 3L year this fall. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in Psychology, graduating summa cum laude from the University of Louisville. Originally from Pikeville, Kentucky, Cami is involved in the Appalachian Law and Women’s Law Caucuses at U of L.

Chasity McCain graduated summa cum laude from the University of Kentucky in 2022 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. She will begin her 3L year this fall at the University of Kentucky’s J. David Rosenberg College of Law. This summer marks her second year as a member of the K&S Summer Associate class. Originally from southeast Texas, Chasity has experience in elder and real estate law.

Blake Siddons graduated magna cum laude from the University of Kentucky in 2023with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance, minoring in Philosophy. Blake will be entering his 3L year this fall at University of Kentucky’s J. David Rosenberg College of Law. Originally from Owensboro, Kentucky he is active in the community, volunteering for the Western Kentucky Botanical Garden, Habitat for Humanity, and St. Mary’s Catholic Church Youth Education.

Mitchell Barber is joining the summer associate program following completion of his 1L year at University of Kentucky’s J. David Rosenberg College of Law. Mitchell graduated with Executive Dean’s List honors from Indiana University in 2022 with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science. With extensive financial advising experience at Captrust Financial Advisors in Chicago, Illinois, his interests also include Roman history and economic theory.

Matt Lynch joins K&S from the University of Kentucky’s J. David Rosenberg College of Law where he will begin his 2L year this fall. Matt graduated magna cum laude from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 2024. From Louisville, Kentucky, Matt is especially interested in accounting having already passed the FAR and REG sections of the CPA Exam. He has also helped develop other students’ knowledge in financial and managerial accounting as an accounting tutor at UK.

Laurel Riggs graduated summa cum laude from the University of Kentucky in 2024with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Writing, Rhetoric, and Digital Studies. She is currently attending the University of Kentucky’s J. David Rosenberg College of Law and will start her second year of law school in the fall. Laurel has extensive government experience as a government affairs intern at Dow Chemical Company, a prosecutorial intern for the Fayette County Office of the Commonwealth Attorney as well as deputy general counsel for the Student Government Association at UK.

Alex Smith graduated from Western Kentucky University in 2019 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematical Economics. Following graduation from WKU, Alex served four years in the United States Army where he was deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Allied Refuge and went on to train team members while stationed at Fort Liberty, North Carolina. He is currently attending the University of Kentucky’s J. David Rosenberg College of Law and will begin his second year this fall.
