Jessica Pratt joins Kinkead & Stilz as Newest Litigation Partner

Kinkead & Stilz is pleased to announce that Jessica Pratt has joined the firm as our newest litigation partner. With more than 20 years of specialized expertise in medical malpractice and wrongful death defense, Jessica brings a wealth of knowledge and a proven track record to the firm.

Jessica’s practice focuses on defending healthcare providers, including hospitals, long-term care facilities, physicians, and nurses in Kentucky and Ohio. Her experience encompasses all aspects of medical negligence and wrongful death claims, from pre-suit evaluation and investigation to discovery, motion practice, trial, and appellate matters. Additionally, she advises clients on risk management and HIPAA-related issues.

A native of Knott County, Kentucky, Jessica reinforces Kinkead & Stilz commitment to being a leading firm in Central and Eastern Kentucky. Jessica earned her Juris Doctor from New England Law in 2002 and her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Kentucky in 1999. She began her legal career with a clerkship in the New Jersey Superior Court in Newark. She then honed her skills as a medical malpractice defense attorney in New York City for over seven years before returning home to practice throughout Kentucky and Ohio.

Jessica is admitted to practice in Ohio, Kentucky, New Jersey, and New York, including the federal courts in the Eastern District of Kentucky, Southern District of Ohio, Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the District of New Jersey. She is an active member of the Kentucky Bar Association, Cincinnati Bar Association, Ohio Bar Association, Defense Research Institute, and the Kentucky Academy of Hospital Attorneys.

In addition to her legal practice, Jessica is a frequent presenter on topics such as professional boundaries and social media, HIPAA compliance, metadata in electronic health records, medication errors, and end-of-life litigation. She has delivered presentations to healthcare professionals at institutions including The Jewish Hospital, Mercy Health, and the Kentucky Association of Health Care Facilities.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Jessica is an avid supporter of the University of Kentucky basketball team and enjoys spending time with her family.
