Kinkead & Stilz Welcomes Four Exceptional Law Students to 2026 Summer Associate Class

Kinkead & Stilz (K&S) is pleased to have a talented group of law students joining us this summer. These Summer Associates will be engaged in the legal world, collaborating with our attorneys on a wide array of matters for our clients. Hosting law students each summer enhances our Firm by introducing fresh academic insights and fostering a dynamic learning environment, while reinforcing our commitment to mentoring and shaping the future leaders of the legal profession.

Morgan McMillen is joining the K&S Summer Associate Program from the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law, where she will begin her 3L year this fall. Morgan graduated summa cum laude from the University of Louisville in 2024 with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work. She has previous experience working at a plaintiffs’ firm where she gained valuable experience working in Medical Malpractice.

Vincent Pisacano joins K&S this summer following the completion of his first year at the University of Kentucky’s J. David Rosenberg College of Law. Vincent graduated from Centre College in 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies. As a Lexington native, he values the strong sense of community and opportunities the city provides. Prior to beginning law school, he gained valuable experience in the legal field while working as a runner for two local law firms, where he developed an early interest in the practice of law.

Zachary Hamner graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown College in 2025 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. He is currently a rising second-year law student at the University of Kentucky’s J. David Rosenberg College of Law. Raised in Georgetown, Zach is proud to remain in Central Kentucky as he continues his legal education and begins building his professional career within the local community.

Erik Backstrom graduated from Centre College in 2025 with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy. He is currently a rising second-year law student at the University of Kentucky’s J. David Rosenberg College of Law. Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, Erik looks forward to experiencing everything Lexington has to offer while continuing his legal studies and gaining practical legal experience.
