Reflections on Senate Bill 50 and a Meaningful Afternoon at Legacy @ Lafayette!

Kinkead & Stilz was thrilled to participate in the Legacy @ Lafayette workshop on Thursday, June 11th. It was a wonderful afternoon of community, connection, and vital planning for the future.

Bethany Breeze Davenport joined a panel of experts to provide legal insights during this half-day event. She led a deep dive into the upcoming changes brought by Kentucky Senate Bill 50, which officially goes into effect on July 14, 2026. Attendees walked away with a better understanding of:

  • The benefits and complexities of the new self-proving electronic wills.
  • How the legislation fundamentally shifts inheritance structures for blended families.
  • The new, simplified process for bypassing probate for vehicles.

Everyone also enjoyed a lovely lunch and a lively Social Hour on the back patio with lite bites, cocktails, and music from the Young at Heart Band. A special thank you to our fellow presenters Julio Levisohn, Emily Evans, Chaney Hughes, and William Hernandez for making the day so impactful.
