Whether or not the probate process is necessary, we can assist with the preparation of federal estate tax returns, Kentucky inheritance tax returns, and fiduciary income tax returns with respect to the estate or any trust that is established as part of an estate. This often involves post mortem tax planning to minimize any tax liabilities. Sometimes estates have assets in multiple states – which requires a multi-state probate – and we have worked with attorneys licensed in many other states for an effective and smooth administration. The estate administration process may also involve negotiating sensitive issues among family members to avoid costly litigation.
